DB Meter — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

Summary

DB Meter collects no personal data, creates no account, does not track users and shows no ads. Everything you measure stays on your device.

Data we collect

The app collects no personal data and shares none with third parties. It creates no account and requires no sign-in. It uses no third-party advertising or analytics tools.

Microphone

The app needs microphone permission to measure ambient sound level. While a measurement is running, audio is processed in a temporary in-memory buffer and discarded as soon as the sound level has been calculated. That audio is never written to a file, never stored on the device and never transmitted anywhere. Microphone access ends when you stop the measurement.

Measurement results

Measurements you save (minimum, average and maximum values, and duration) are kept only in your device's own storage. They are never uploaded to a server. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

Network access

On launch the app downloads a single static configuration file to learn the minimum supported version. No personal data is sent with this request. The app keeps working normally when there is no internet connection.

Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Accuracy notice

Phone microphones are not calibrated for sound measurement and vary significantly between devices. The values shown are estimates and are not a substitute for official, legal or occupational health and safety measurements.

Changes to this policy

If a feature that collects data is ever added, this page will be updated and the Data safety declaration on Google Play will be changed accordingly.
